Instagram has boosted the updated version for a mobile website by adding functions that were previously available only in the main application of the service. Among them are: it is now possible to publish photos and launched a light version of the "Search and interesting” tab.
Until now, users of the mobile version of Instagram could only view publications, put "Like", subscribe to updates, search for posts and receive notifications.
The press service commented on the update in the following way: "The Instagram.com website (visited from mobile devices) is designed to help people interact more fully with Instagram regardless of what device or network they use."
According to TechCrunch, this update is primarily aimed at users from well-developed countries who are not always able to install the service application because of the limitations of their device. At the moment, about 80% of Instagram's audience lives outside the US.
Among the features that are still not available in the mobile version are: downloading videos, filters, "Stories" and Instagram Direct.
It should be recalled that, the monthly Instagram audience went over 700 million people.
